Some good advice on getting to grips with social media
Posted by Ingrid Koehler on September 1, 2008
Dave Briggs has some excellent advice about how councils might go about dipping their toes into the world of social media (you know blogs and stuff).
One suggestion I particularly like is blogging about projects…
Start public blogs for big council projects, so that people can be kept in the know – if they want to be – and can leave comments or ask questions, and then make sure someone responds to them. Maybe senior managers should blog too, to help get messages out that people can read without them first going through the filter of the local press.
Emphasis mine.
He has loads more suggestions. Councils, of course, wouldn’t be the only organisations that could benefit. Partnerships, charities and community groups could take advantage, too.

Ingrid, the link goes to newsgator rather than direct to Dave’s blog post. If you don’t have a newsgator login it isn’t any use. Could you change it please?

Thanks Nick! Fixed.
